Design and social innovation at Malmö University
Textklinik’s latest campaign is entitled ‘Design for Social Innovation’, so we are closely following all the latest discoveries and developments in this field. As part of our campaign, we visited Malmö University in Sweden, which has been offering design and social innovation seminars since 2011.
Students here have the opportunity to gain further knowledge in these areas, enabling them to make valuable contributions towards society in the future. The university tries to bridge the gap between theory and practice so that ideas that are developed here can be acted on in reality and contribute towards making the world a better place. There is a strong focus on collaboration between the designers.
The young designers are given an insight into creative communities and issues such as communal consumption, sustainability, capacity, the new economy, creating networks, and politics. They work in multidisciplinary teams to develop design projects that are linked to social innovation. Textklinik believes that these seminars are a great opportunity and hopes that many talented designers will make the most of them.
